1. Material

• Steel: Mild Steel

• Standard: ASTM A36 / EN 10025 (S275)

• Minimum Yield Strength: ≥ 250 MPa

• Corrosion Protection: Hot-Dip Galvanized

2. Member Description

L1 – Primary GI Beam

• Section: Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) / Square Hollow Section (SHS) / I-Section
  (as per approved drawings)

• Typical Size: 100 × 50 × 3 mm RHS (unless noted otherwise)

• Function: Primary horizontal load-bearing structural member

• Span & Layout: As per structural and shop drawings

• Maximum Allowable Deflection: L/250

3. Galvanizing

• Method: Hot-Dip Galvanizing

• Standard: ISO 1461 / ASTM A123

• Minimum Zinc Coating Thickness: 85 microns

• Surface to be free from bare spots, runs, or excessive buildup

4. Fabrication

• Cutting, drilling, and welding to be completed before galvanizing

• All welds continuous and smooth

• No sharp edges or burrs

• Welding Standard: AWS D1.1

• Members straight and free from distortion

5. Connections

• Connection Type: Bolted and/or welded as shown on drawings

• Fasteners: Hot-Dip Galvanized or Stainless Steel

• Bolt Grade: 8.8 minimum

• All bolts, nuts, and washers corrosion-resistant

6. Installation

• Installed true to line, level, and alignment

• Fixing tolerance: ±2 mm

• Damaged galvanizing to be repaired with zinc-rich paint (≥90% Zn)
